UNDP in partnership with the Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB), involved in a project entitled “Sarawak Inland Waterway Transport (SIWT) System Study”, a project to support the development of rivers in Sarawak as a mode of transportation. The project emphasizes on Community Water Transport to improve mobility and access to economic and social services, particularly in the rural areas. (09 November 2007)

This video shows how UNDP is working with Sarawak Rivers Board to empower the communities. Safety on rivers cannot be negotiated. It is a vital community education and is part of a wider education and awareness campaign designed to increase awareness on the issues related to river transportation in Sarawak.
