Titan-UNDP Dugong Conservation Partnership Print E-mail
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Malaysia has initiated a partnership with private sector company, Titan Chemical Corp Bhd (Titan) to develop a project for the conservation of endangered marine life species, the dugongs, in Johor, Malaysia.

This initiative will be part of an existing UNDP project which is implemented by the Marine Parks Unit of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to protect and improve the management of marine parks in Malaysia. To learn more about this project, click here.

Titan's contribution will be through the development of programmes for local community participation, identifying best practices in ecotourism and capacity-building on managing the conservation of the dugong species.

Titan Chemicals Corp. Bhd., is Malaysia's first and largest integrated producer of olefins and polyolefins and the second largest polyolefins producer in Southeast Asia. Titan operates 8 plants in the southern state of Johore.
