UNDP National Goodwill Ambassador (NGWA), Datuk Nicol David, visited the Gombak Forest Reserve to learn first hand about the Conservation of Biological Diversity through Improved Forest Planning Tools project, which seeks to develop better economic and ecological tools for improved forest management The research team comprises researches from different backgrounds – the team is broken into groups of two to three people, and each are tasked with monitoring and measuring different species of flora or fauna in the forest Each bat that is captured needs to be measured for its weight, wing span and tagged before being released A dung beetle Datuk Nicol David inspecting a moth trap with researcher Anthony, who is from the Philippines.
